Yes it reminds me of my dad. Miss you last heard your voice 30 years ago seems like yesterday but has been along time,wish my grandkids could have met you and momma.

I swear I heard this song before and I think it was at the same spot by the coast of Amalfi.... Lots of memories left behind there. So sad that this legendary singer left us. Rest in Peace my friend. ❤

Heard when this was first out it was a call to help Petty & Mcguinn were offering to Dylan and his addiction. In their minds he was on the wrong path. Of course who better epitomizes the king of the hill than Dylan. Of course the sad irony is it ended up describing Petty many years later. Bob still touring each night & still getting the ‘white blinding light’ (the spotlight). At least that’s the story I heard back when this was released. Had never heard it was about the Mamas & Papas.

I remember doing a cover of this with my old band a while ago. It went down really well until someone yelled out "My Granny prefers the Barry Manilow version!"
